IS THERE REAL RACISM IN AMERICA?

Question: “What do you think of English Trifle?” Most Americans (as did I) would have to profess ignorance,  primarily because 1) they have no idea what it is, 2) they have never tasted or experienced it and/or 3) they do not have it in their fridge (Trifle is a dessert dish made from thick custard, fruit, sponge cake, fruit juice or jelly and whipped cream. These ingredients are usually arranged in layers.)

Media hype and race hustlers’ (black or white) assertions to the contrary, the overwhelming majority of Americans born after 1980 will have a similar response to the question, “What is genuine institutionalized racism?”

As one who experienced firsthand the real deal, and exploited same, as a black revolutionary devotee of Malcolm X, et al, I feel eminently qualified to throw some facts on the table.

One of the basic tactics we learned in “Racial Rhetoric 101″ was “fight facts with fertilizer,” “history with histrionics.” When all else fails, resort to name calling when dealing with “Whitey.” “Honkies,” “Cracker” and the old standby, “Racists” (avoid “redneck” it has been favorably co-opted), generally speaking, work well. “Racist,” by the way, is/was used quite frequently and effectively as a modifier for pigs, conservatives, Republicans, bankers, etc.

By the way, for the uninformed (the majority of those born after 1980), we didn’t have to insist that “white folk” not intrude in our “cultural space.” I clearly recall some civil rights demonstrations on several college campuses in the not-too-distant past where blacks, joined by some white liberals, were demanding Ujamaa Houses and dining facilities.

Yo, Dudes, I hate to bring this up, but we had separate dorms, separate eating facilities, separate schools and much, much more. If memory serves, we fought to get out of, not into, separate facilities. And, by the way, lest we forget, peaceful demonstrations for such things as voting rights and civil rights (not Trayvon Martin type protests) were met not with swarms of media, but police dogs, billy clubs, water cannons (high pressure fire hoses that could take off real skin), lynchings and even bombs.

It has often been said, “What you don’t know won’t hurt you.” But that’s not true. Ignorance is deadly! Be the first to get Ben Kinchlow’s “Black Yellowdogs” before its Sept. 10 release.

Can we cut to the chase? Let me point out a few facts demonstrated by real life:

1) Leftist media and race baiters’ rhetoric to the contrary, the facts are, all whites are not racists and all blacks are not victims.

2) Generally speaking, all Americans are too busy earning a living, negotiating government red tape, avoiding being taxed into poverty, or rooting for their favorite (totally integrated) sports team to spend hours absorbed in racial drama.

3) Most whites are tired of being blamed for slavery and most blacks are not spending every waking hour looking for some white person to blame.

If “white America” were as racist as her many critics allege, then why is the “racist” label the kiss of death for any politician seeking office? Seems to me, based on allegations from certain “civil rights leaders” today, all politicians running for office would diligently seek to be labeled “racists.” Frankly, I am somewhat mystified by the dichotomy. Racist or not? Yes or no? Seems to me, I distinctly remember the “guvner” of one southern state, who, when charged with being a segregationist, proudly stated on national television, “Yes, segregation today, segregation tomorrow and segregation forever!” What do you think his chances would be of getting elected today, even in the Southern states?

Racial pundits, commentators and editors (for ratings and sales) relentlessly proclaim, “America is rife with racism!” Martin-Zimmerman type cases are brought forth to substantiate these charges. The truth of the matter is evident to those who have spent time outside her borders: America is the least racist, most accepting of culture and class of any country on the face of the earth. (Have you been to Africa or the Middle East lately – Israel excepted?)

If I were a betting man, I would give you odds that in most cases, when the race issue is brought up in America today, it is in, or in response to, a media story.

I am convinced the overwhelming majority of thinking Americans (black and white), if permitted by the politically correct thought police to express their personal sentiments, would passionately declare, “Enough with the race stuff already, let’s get on with living!”
